The Hidden Wildlife of Chasewater and Cuckoo Bank |

Not all birds are as well camouflaged as this Jack Snipe. Here are some of the species of plants, animals, insects, bats, and underwater life, that inhabit Chasewater but which are not easy (some perhaps very difficult indeed) to find and identify. But nonetheless - a challenge to all who are interested in learning more about the fascinating wildlife that can be found on this unique site!
The three images below have been provided by Spike (M.I.) Walker (of Penkridge) to whom we are very grateful. Spike is a well known English photomicrographer and has been a consistent winner of the Small World competition for many years, having won a total of 10 prizes and two honorable mentions. More of Spike's wonderful images of this hidden world can be seen in his selection of images from his portfolio on the Molecular Expressions website. He also has a website about the famous Ultraphot Range of Microsopes from Carl Zeiss - The Ultraphot Shop
